How to use solid watercolor paint?

2024-12-19

1. Prepare tools: Ensure that you have clean brushes, solid paint, water, pen wash cartridges, and color palettes. ‌

2. Activate paint: Dip a clean brush into a small amount of water to keep the tip moist. Then gently brush the surface of the pigment to fully dissolve it.

3. Dip the paint: Rotate the wet brush back and forth in the color palette to fully absorb the paint. Pay attention to how much moisture can affect the depth of color.

4. Adjust moisture: If the pen tip has too much moisture, you can use a tissue to absorb some of the moisture to control the color concentration.

5. Painting: Gently draw high-quality blocks on paper with a paintbrush, adjusting color and density as needed.

Usage tips and precautions:

1. Keep moist: When using solid watercolor, the pigment needs to be kept moist at all times. You can wet the paint with a spray can, or wet the brush before dipping it. ‌

2. Grinding pigments: Grind vigorously when dipping pigments to ensure that more colors are dipped at once, avoiding insufficient pigments when painting.

3. Clean up color mixing: If color mixing is found, clean it up in a timely manner. For large-area coloring, a brush can be used to apply color quickly.
