What are the classifications of watercolor paints?
1. Transparent watercolor paint
Transparent watercolor is characterized by high color transparency, and when colors are superimposed, the coloring is deep and full of layers. When painting transparent watercolors, white paint is not used, but the color of the supporting material (watercolor paper, etc.) used for painting is used as white. Although the number of colors of the paint is not many, an average of more than a dozen colors, the use of mixed colors can satisfy any sketching creation. In addition, even if the name of the color is the same, if the brand is different, the lightness of the color will be different (earth pigments made of special soil, the color of the pigment is different from the origin of the pigment), so by adding and subtracting pigments, or mixing various colors , Deploying new colors is also a kind of fun and improvement.
Transparent watercolor paints are mainly divided into two types: solid watercolor paints in tubes and dry blocks:
Watercolor paints in tubes are small and expensive. However, the tube-packed pigments dissolve in water when used, so the use time is relatively long.
Dry block solid watercolor paint is very suitable for travel. Even just looking at these rich and vibrant colors can't help but get excited.
2. Opaque watercolor paint
Gouache paint has many pigments, high coverage rate (the ability to cover and hide the underlying color), and has a thick feeling like oil paint, which is conducive to coloring.
Although acrylic paint is water-soluble, once the coloring layer dries, it will lose its water solubility. Even if the coloring layer of the picture is thick, it will not crack and fall off. Brushes and palettes need to be placed on a damp towel to keep them from drying out.
